Painting Landscapes I: Saturday, June 23, 2012 Painting Landscapes II: Saturday, August 25, 2012
Would you like to make the landscape your own? Learn and apply a simplified approach to landscape painting, using a limited palette and water–soluble acrylic paints. You will learn: • how to create a landscape painting from a photograph • how to approach composition and design • how to mix colors and create beautiful color harmonies • how to give your landscapes the illusion of distance • some of the differences between painting indoors from your own photographs and painting on location
By the end of the class, you will have a landscape painting to take home with you. This class is designed for people with at least some previous painting experience.
Painting Landscapes II is an extension and continuation of what you began in the first workshop. You will create a landscape painting from a photograph; and learn more about how to create compositions that work; how to develop a color palette and create beautiful color harmonies; and how to use layering, scumbling, and glazing to make your paintings gorgeous.
