Creative Calm
Drawing Your Way to Inner Peace

A Free Mindful Art Session On Zoom

A gentle, mindful art session designed to help you release stress and reconnect with yourself through simple mark-making, color, and flow.

Has life felt a bit overwhelming lately?

Whether it’s disaster-related, personal overwhelm, chaos and craziness in the world around us, or anything else — art can help you find your calm and carry on.

This free online session with artist and teacher Karen Lynn Ingalls is designed for this moment.

We’ll use simple materials — colored markers and paper — to explore soothing neurographic-inspired, meditative mark-making. You can substitute crayons or watercolors for colored markers, but it will help to have at least one marker (a Sharpie works well).

No art skills are needed—just bring an open heart and a willingness to play with lines, shapes, and colors. This isn’t about making “perfect” art; it’s about process, expression, and finding calm in the act of creating.

Think of it as a mini-retreat on paper. You’ll leave feeling lighter, more centered, and with a few creative tools you can use anytime stress starts to build.

🌿 What you’ll experience:
  • Gentle, guided art-making to reduce stress through creative expression
  • Mindful mark-making techniques you can return to anytime
  • A safe, supportive space to relax and let go—no judgment, no pressure
  • The joy of discovering how drawing can help you find inner peace
✨ Join us live on Zoom and give yourself the gift of Creative Calm.
When: Thursday, September 4 — 6:30 PM Pacific Time

(It won't be recorded, so there will be no replays.)

Your name and email ARE coming through to me, though, and I will add you to the list!

Why I'm offering this special session

Art can most definitely help you find your calm and carry on.

I know, because it's done that for me a number of times. (I talked about them, and the power of art to help us rise from challenges, on Shannon Grissom's Painterly Life podcast a couple of months ago.)

The times we live in, and the fires, floods, storms, and health challenges that family, friends, folks I know, and I have been experiencing in recent years led me to discover and explore Neurographic art, and various directions I could take it in. It is a wonderfully mindful, meditative, creative way to reduce stress.

It seemed to me, especially as the large Pickett Fire roared through the hills very near my home, that it's a good time to share it with more people.

It's simple, easy, and fun. There's no charge to join us — just let me know you'd like to be a part of it. It won't be recorded, so there won't be any replays — though I may schedule another one, if participants would like it.
