Once you've had a chance to explore the basics, and apply it in abstract paintings, then it's time to explore a little further....
In this work-(play)-shop, we'll follow up on what you learned in Acrylic Painting 101, and explore how to create a simple still life painting.
You'll discover:
- How to use thumbnail sketches to design your compositions
- How to create a feeling of balance in your composition
- How to paint light and shadow
- How to create a feeling of dimension and volume
- Two different kinds of painters — and two different ways to approach painting. Which works best for you?
On the second day, you'll learn how to use glazes and be introduced to acrylic mediums. Then you'll explore using acrylic paints in a way that looks like watercolors in a third painting, and you'll be able to develop all three of your paintings, with Karen's guidance and support.
This is an excellent introduction to acrylic painting, whether you've never painted before, or whether you're experienced in another medium, and want to discover just what it is you can do in acrylics that you can't in any other paint medium.
