Harmonious colors feel good.

But sometimes colors just don't behave!
It can be frustrating when they don't.

Do the colors in your paintings drive you a little crazy sometimes, when they seem to fight each other?

Or, at least, not get along the way you'd like them to?

What if you could discover one method that would ensure your colors all got along well together?

It's all about how you start out....
This masterclass is all about how to choose the colors of your palette — and it's not a one-size-fits-all kind of thing.

You'll discover multiple options, and ways to help you choose the colors that you'll love most.

And you'll wind up with multiple color palettes and ideas that you can experiment with, to see which ones really sing to your heart.

From there, you'll be able to find a palette of colors that you truly love, that work (and play!) together in harmony.

You'll learn specifics that apply to acrylic paints — but this also applies to any paint medium you happen to work in.
It all happens in a live online masterclass with Karen Lynn Ingalls:

Coming up in September 2024 — dates to be announced.
When colors play together well, it feels so much better!

  3. A digital PDF with technical information you can refer to later, that you can download after the class
  4. A Bonus Video on how to test different color combinations in a way that’s budget-friendly...
  5. And a Bonus Follow-up Q&A session, so you can share what you've tried out, and ask any questions you like about them
The next class: Saturday  — to be scheduled — in 2025
Bonus Follow-up Q&A Session:  Saturday — to be scheduled in 2025

How I learned about Color

You can probably tell from my paintings that I love color.

I studied Color Theory in college, soaked up as much as I could from the wonderful teachers and artists I was able to learn from, and learned from every painting.

But for many years, I still considered myself primarily a drawer rather than a painter, because colors were hard to manage.

Too often, they just didn't seem to harmonize with each other in the ways I wanted them to.

But I kept working, added, learning, painting, and trying different colors and combinations and more.

I pushed my colors as far as I could in my paintings, just to see how far I could take them. A few of those paintings had color combinations that would set your teeth on edge, and I learned from them.

But I kept at it until all those colors began to come together in new ways.

I took what worked, and put together everything I'd learned over the years into practical, applicable methods that make the colors in the painting sing together in beautiful harmony, no matter how intense they are. And now my work is known for its beautiful, strong, harmonious colors.

Why this class was created for you

I know how challenging it is to create color harmony in your paintings.

But if you can find a simple, practical method that's easy to apply, it is so much easier for you to get the results you want.

That's why I've taken everything I've learned over the years, and put it together in a way it's easy, straightforward, and doable, so you will get the outcome you're looking for right away.

I want to make it easier for everyone to create beautiful, harmonious color in their paintings. That way we can all help, in our own small ways, to make the world a more beautiful place.

You don't have to go to art school. You don't have to spend years figuring it all out. You don't have to learn all the theoretical aspects of color without understanding how to apply them to your painting process.

My students have been applying these methods — The Secrets of Color Harmony — for years now, learning them here, in Napa Valley, in in-person classes and workshops. Now I'm bringing them online, so you can learn and apply them from anywhere in the world, and create beautiful color harmony in your own paintings.
