Create an Abstract Painting!

You will need:
  1. A canvas, canvasboard, panel, or piece of watercolor paper or canvas paper, preferably between sizes 16" x 20" and 11" x 14". (If you're using paper, you may want to tape down the edges of the paper onto a Masonite-type flat board with low-tack painter's tape or artist's tape.)
  2. A water container (tall plastic yogurt or cottage cheese containers work well). Fill it with only about 1 1/2" of water.
  3. Your paints, in the colors of your choice (preferably a yellow, a red, and a blue) and Titanium white.
  4. A couple of brushes in different sizes, preferably filberts or flats, and preferably one larger and one smaller. If you have a couple somewhere in the middle, that's good, too.
  5. A palette (a disposable waxy-coated paper plate works well for this) for setting out and mixing your paints.
  6. Paper towels.
  7. Brush cleaner to clean your brushes after you're done (I highly recommend The Master's Brush cleaner, which comes in little tubs).

When you have everything assembled, and are ready to paint, the video will take you step-by-step through creating an abstract painting. The instructions are open-ended; you interpret them in whatever way feels right to you. There is no wrong. Have fun!
