Soft Block PrintingNot scheduled at this time – please contact Karen if you are interested in this workshop.
Interested in creating your own block–printed cards or fine art prints? Learn all the basics of printmaking with soft blocks (similar to, but much easier to work with, than linoleum block or wood block printing) and non–toxic, water–soluble inks. You will learn how to design and cut the block for printing, and how to ink and print greeting cards and fine art prints.

Block Printing Studio TimeDate & Time: contact Karen for updates
Location: Calistoga Community Presbyterian Church (also known as the Green Church), 1407 Third Street, Calistoga, CA 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Fee: Donation to the church This is non-instructional time for block printers! In other words, you've made block prints before, and you're looking forward to working in the company of other printers! We will set up inking stations and print, print, print all day long. What do you bring? Your block, paper, water-soluble ink (no solvent-based inks), brayer (that has not been used for solvent-based inks), a surface for inking (plexiglass sheet, disposable paper palette pad for acrylic painters, or printer's bench hook), and your creative spirit! This is time to print and to share the printing process with other block printers. To see photographs of the printmaking process from 2010's two–day printmaking workshop, go to Karen's art teaching blog here at www.napavalleyartcamp.blogspot.com. |
